Red mercury in old TV and radios
Nov 7, 2020A friend of mine forced me to dissemble the old TV of my neighbor, and I was wondering why he is forcing me to do so. Later, I find he was searching some kind of container with liquid called red mercury that might have been fabricated in TV circuit boards. He explained the red mercury can be sold at very high price, at $100,000 per kilogram.
I tried to search about it on the internet. Querying a single keyword in google, i find lots of rumors and hoaxes on YouTube and blogging sites. People are running after it: talking searching.
Rumors
Most of the people talking on youtube and blogging sites taking their positions without any evidences. Some of them said that the mercury costs very high price and they all are running after that. But they don't know where and to whom it can be sold, and where it is actually used.
Some mentions that they are used in radios and TVs to filter the frequency of the received signal.
Other claims that NASA buys it, they are accumulating it to use in rockets and space crafts.
They also tell that a new company is looking for it to make more red mercury, as a single drop red mercury can be used to make same large volume.
